ART ALLEY "Big Bend Art Walk" COMPETITION JUNE 7th

The Barton Arts Movement is joining the exciting line-up of the first ever Big Bend Bash sponsored by Great Bend Alive and the City of Great Bend! The Big Bend Bash on Saturday, June 7, 2025, will fill the streets of downtown Great Bend, Kansas, with activities for all ages. Adding to the exciting event schedule, BAM will host a special pop-up "Big Bend Art Walk" (previously called "Art Alley") to showcase talent from Kansas artists and create added entertainment for visitors. This will be the 4th year for the grassroots art competition.

Kansas artists will be selected to showcase their work in front of a large audience. This year's event will feature 4 prize categories, in addition to the coveted People's Choice Bammy Award! Artists must live in Kansas to be considered.

Submission Categories Include:

Daycare, Preschool, or Group Submission (NEW in 2025!)
K - 6th-Grade Submission
7 - 12th-Grade Submission
18+ Individual Submission

Suggested Submission Size & Type:

2 Dimensional Original Artwork
Canvas, framed, or mounted - the piece must be ready to hang/display
Suggested size: 16x20

Any artists interested in participating should fill out the Artist Entry Form below by May 21, 2025, to be considered. New this year, participants can join with a group entry. This category was created to invite daycares and elementary classes to participate with all of their children presenting a class theme (individual entries are accepted for elementary ages and up).

Artists will be notified if they are selected for the "Big Bend Art Walk" on or before May 26, 2025. Artwork must be delivered to the Golden Belt Community Foundation office (1307 Williams Street, Great Bend) May 27-30, 2025 during GBCF normal office hours. BAM Volunteers will transport the artwork to the "Big Bend Art Walk" event and display them for the public to browse and vote upon.

After the event, artists will be asked to pick up their artwork, details TBA! The winner will be announced LIVE on the spot at the Big Bend Bash event in front of the crowd!
